Best photography places in Dallas

As a photographer, I also look for places that will serve multiple purposes. These places not only serve as a beautiful background but will make you look good in your photos and perfect for whatever occasion. From weddings, anniversaries, reunions, and family photos, and branding photography, the Dallas area will never run out of places that will fit any occasion. But apart from these places being breathtaking, they are the best as a photography venue. So, to help you find these amazing places, here are some of my suggestions that you can visit and create wonderful memories with your family and friends.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

One of the most beautiful places you can find here is the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. It is located just minutes from downtown on the shore of White Rock Lake and features 66 acres of 11 lush displays of gardens with colorful plants and flowers blooming all year round. This is the perfect place for a romantic date or nature-tripping. Most of all, there are different backgrounds that you can use and create Instagrammable photos that you can share.

Winspear Opera House

Located in the arts district of downtown Dallas, the Winspear Opera House is a 21st-century interpretation of the traditional “horseshoe” shaped opera house where it is specifically used for the performance of opera and musical theatre. The amazing architecture is photograph-worthy and will definitely be an outstanding option to be used in your social media postings.

AT & T Discovery District

For a quick shoot, the AT&T Discovery District will be a good place to add to your collection of photos. You will be able to experience the state-of-the-art media wall that will bring a modern vibe to your photos. There will be a regular weekly schedule where the entire plaza will come to life as lights and sound will fill the whole district. What’s more the 30-foot sculpture in a spherical shape called the Globe will also be a distinct attraction that is worthy of a beautiful photo. By the way, did I forget to mention that it is free to capture and experience all these unforgettable moments?

Downtown McKinney

Another great outdoor location to visit is Downtown McKinney where you will not run out of photo opportunities. It features a modern spirit with a historic soul where you can see many buildings with vivid and rustic colors. Use these buildings as your background to share in your social media accounts. You can easily walk around the area and choose from different venues like restaurants and shopping centers that provide an authentic hometown feel. The collision of the old and new atmosphere makes it suited for an appealing photo-op.

Cedar Ridge Preserve

Nature at its best comes to life here at Cedar Ridge Preserve. If you love hiking and immersing yourself in nature, this is the best place to be. The trails of the preserve will make you forget that you are living in the city. Take part in going to different hiking trails and seeing the different wonders of nature. See beautiful butterflies, birds, and even acres of colorful flowers and of course, don’t forget to take photos of these amazing sights.

Waterproof at the Statler

Located on the 19th floor of the Statler, Waterproof boasts a stunning and panoramic view of the surrounding downtown Dallas which is worthy of another photo opportunity. Enjoy the indoor and outdoor space where you can choose to relax in a private cabana, dine and drink in their resto, or dive into the pool while taking your awesome photos.

Lakeside Park

Hands down to its beauty and picturesque places around the park. People loved visiting this place and for good reason! Lakeside Park sits over 14 acres of extraordinarily landscaped grounds along Turtle Creek. It is located between Beverly Drive and Armstrong Parkway and it is the perfect place for a relaxing stroll. You can enjoy a lot of scenic views inside the park. But aside from the abundance of nature trails and beautiful gardens, there are hidden paths where you will be surprised by what’s in store for you. There is a separate area where a dam spills lake water into a stream. As you walk along some rock wall, a green wonderland is waiting for you! And don’t forget – to take a look at the adorable and giant teddy bear statues. It is a MUST see and of course, you should not miss taking a picture with it. However, it is best to go there early to avoid other visitors so you don’t have to compete for a perfect picture.

There are still a lot of places that you can visit and take photos to be a part of your memorable moments. But I think, having this one article alone will not fit! These locations are just some of my recommendations. Feel free to comment and suggest if you have visited any other places in Dallas that are worthy of a good photo-op. I can’t wait to hear from you.
